So I am officially starting my third week of second semester. I am taking more classes than I took last semester, so we'll see how that goes. On the plus side, I love every single one of my classes so far. =)

One of my New Year's resolutions was to become more involved in community service, especially while at college. During high school, volunteering was second nature and I absolutely loved it. But attending college was totally new for me and I was more focused on getting myself settled in during my first semester. Now that second semester's kicked off, I have found a program that allows me to volunteer at different places in my area. So much fun! Our first day of volunteering was at a food pantry. It was a Saturday and I had to get up at an insanely early hour (well, early in the eyes of a college student!). That day it was also snowing. I woke up to at least a good three inches...and it was still coming down! Not exactly fun to walk in, for the wind was brutal and it was hard to see whatever was ahead. But being able to hand out food to disadvantaged families was more than worth the twenty-minute trudge in the snow! Because of the bad weather, the food pantry did not get as many families...so we were able to give the people who came as much as they wanted instead of having to painfully ration it out. Great way to spend a Saturday morning!
