What I Learned Today - 6/14/12
So yesterday I was on Verizon duty--which is mainly sit-at-home-waiting-for-the-Verizon-guy-to-show-up duty. Seeing as he could show up anytime between 8 and 4, I had a very nice chunk of time to myself.
And I thought I'd be so productive.
No, really. I thought I'd write a couple blog posts, read my econ textbook, do some creative writing, maybe a bit of sewing. Some good reading. Some deep thinking about my life plan. I had all this time. I couldn't leave the house. I was pumped for this.
But no. What I ended up doing went slightly off plan...
1. I watched four episodes of 18 to Life on Netflix. It's about two 18-year-old neighbors who decide to marry against the wishes of their two very different families. It's interesting.
2. I looked up funny YouTube videos. Like this one. And this one.
3. I ate avocadoes and chili.
4. I looked up more funny YouTube videos of people pulling pranks at WallMart.
I mean, I guess I did get some writing done, and I finally got around to painting my toes.
But why are we (or at least, I) the least productive on our most open days?
So I guess bottom line is I'm better off with my schedule slightly full. Outings outside the house help as well.
Like today. Today I got up early to go to the dry cleaners. Now I'm here, sitting at my desk, fully clothed and writing this post. And it's only 9:30. Later I'll go to the mall to pick up my brother's graduation gifts and maybe some father's day shopping as well.
I feel it. This day holds much more promise than the last.
p.s. just re-listed myself on IBlog4Me - awesome support site for bloggers!
